Marty Smith Named Falcons Basketball Coach

Lincoln County High School has selected Marty Smith as the new boys basketball coach.  Coach Smith takes over from Coach Chad Tipps who was recently named the head basketball coach for the Lady Falcons.  
Coach Smith is a twenty- plus year high school coaching veteran who has coached and played in college.  He has been a head coach in basketball, football, tennis, and girls soccer on the high school level. He ran the Corporate Partner Program for the Alabama High School Athletic Association and oversaw the logistics and running of the First Super 6 Football State Championships in Bryant Denny Stadium on the campus of the University of Alabama and also Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University. He also oversaw the Final 48 State Basketball State Championship for two years at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center. Coach Smith was also the Co-Event Director for the First Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at the Barber's Motor Sports Park for Zoom Motorsports. He also was the Event Director for the AMA Motorcycle Race also at the Barber's Motor Sports Park.
Coach Smith has been married to his wife Felicia for 21+ years who is also an educator.  On a personal side note, Felica was just named one of ten Alumni of the year from Samford University's Orlean Bullard Beason School of Education.  He and Felicia have one daughter who is a Junior at University of Alabama-Birmingham and one son who is a Sophomore at Hewitt-Trussville High School.  Coach Smith and his family are original members of Crosspoint Baptist Church in Trussville. Both he and his wife have served in various community activities promoting many topics related to education and childhood disabilities.
